Re: [microsound] City Of The Future - another approach
Excuse me if this has been covered already, but I have a couple
questions and comments about the "City of the Future" project:

so far i've noticed that almost everybody has taken the "sci-fi"
approach to the project, and that's ok; i'm big fan of sci-fi movies
and even bigger fan of stanislaw lem's books (the author of solaris),
but there is the other side of this invitation: thinking about the
city of the future.
1. So then is the audio excerpt from "Solaris" a "required
ingredient" for the project, or did it merely serve as the impetus to
Kim for proposing a much more open ended project?
2. Perhaps in the same vein as the Stone and Ripple project,
participants could upload components which relate to the the "City of
the Future" theme which might come at it from a different angle as
suggested above by fugadeserebros. For instance, I have some spoken
word bits from various architects of the modernist period (ie. Corbu,
Neimeyer, Mies, etc) speaking about various things architectural, and
the City of the Future (at least as it was imagine in their
heydays...)
Any thoughts on that?
