Your statement reads as if you are suggesting all Muslim clerics are
zealots. I assume you don't mean to imply such an absurdity.

Overlooking that... can one find Muslim clerics who hold more extreme
positions than Bush? Yes. But one can also find Christian priests who
hold extreme, frightening positions too. So what?

To hold some fringe madmen, who are leaders of congregations of a
couple hundred people, to the same standard of zealotry as the leader
of a nation of 250 million with the most powerful military in the
world at his command is ridiculous. We should expect much more
temperance from the leader of the US.

<http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/2921345.stm>:

Those close to Mr Bush say that day he discovered his life's
  mission.

He became convinced that God was calling him to engage the forces of
evil in battle, and this one time baseball-team owner from Texas did
  not shrink from the task.

If it is indeed true that the president of the US thinks that God is
calling on him to engage the forces of evil in battle (whoever the
forces of evil are), I find that pretty scary, and indeed, smacking of
zealotry.

Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.
