My bad.  Clarification is in order.  Two ex-girlfriends and a Persian
who married into my family will disprove this sentiment.

Yes, and they're considered whacko.  They are marginalized.  Because
people on the street don't have the luxury of being in the Arabian
Peninsula, North Africa, or the rest of the Islamic world to see what is
happening, they rely on images of "mad mullahs" inciting their followers
to kill Americans and Jews.  Perhaps if this crap wasn't shown on TV, it
would make for slightly better relations between the two cultures.

You would figure.  In a respect I agree.  I still don't see this sort of
zealotry that is being implied.
