coming briefly out of lurk mode to say Kazantzakis is a fantastic writer and
well worth seeking out. Along with the infamous Last Temptation of Christ,
he was also responsible for Zorba the Greek (which, IIRC, earned a few
Oscars back in the sixties when turned into a movie) and The Rock Garden,
which hasn't been movie-ized yet-- thankfully. All three are highly
recommended from this camp.
