Maybe a way around this is to pursue your own direction - sometimes hard to do
unless you tune everyithing else out :)

Also, to jog yourself look at the book " The Artist's Way," not to follow it
exactly, but t dig the basic ideas - I also like Henry Miller on Writing, a
compilation of his writings on writing.
