i'm also interested in your "dust in music" research. i am a lurker on =
the microsound list, & i don't make microsound exactly, but i am =
planning & working towards a music project called Ruin which i hope will =
similarly reflect a kind of nostalgic aesthetic of decay on many =
levels..(i like the connotations of something overtly romantic but at =
the same time with all those slightly academic/ technically obsessive, =
avant gardist, anti-romantic posturings one would perhaps at times =
associate with, well, the kind of stuff that goes around on this list..& =
i know someones gonna take issue with that, but u know what i mean, & no =
offence meant..)
hopefully i'll incorporate some DSP trickery along the way (i'd describe =
my progress in this dept as still in the learning phase - just starting =
to look at Jmax for example)...but there be a few more traditional dubby =
& "real world" elements, & probably a few beats i want to get into it =
too along the way... as i'm thinking both the degraded signal aspect & =
the apocalyptic imagery of some dub both lend themselves to the project =
"caahncept" quite well (apologies to all americans on the list ; )...) & =
hopefully the whole thing won't end up sounding too much like Vladislav =
Delay on Chain Reaction.!!
so obviously what youre talking about & any links/ interesting bits/ =
bibliographies u come up with would be of interest to me for additional =
ideas....if u r happy to share them with me/ us....off list if =
necessary.
what about "dust me selecta"? ; )
