sparse perhaps, but incredibly powerful. every "new trend" in pop
culture can be traced back to some "underground" source. it is this
co-optation engine which has fueled the culture industry for as long
as their has been one.

this is true. give it some time. "glitch" and "microsound" elements
are already being used in "crossover" music by "famous" artists. i
hear things on the local R&B/ Hip-Hop station, that sound strikingly
similar to Funkstorung and Pole. the hull has been breached.

i am pretty well aware of "the big bad ugly world of pop culture" out
there. i help make it. i also have teenage kids. and live with a high
school teacher. i don't think my comments are that radically
divergent from reality. but i could be wrong.
