Title: beepSNORT - New Electronic Music Blog Launched
Type: News Release
Posted: 05/29/2003
Because the current electronic music scene is experiencing a blurring between academic and popular forms (as evidenced by David Horne's recent concert with the London Sinfonietta playing contemporary classical masters - Nancarrow, Cage, Ligeti, Ives
and Stockhausen - interspersed with pieces from groups/individuals from
the Warp label - Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Squarepusherand another recent one at the All Tomorrows Parties festival where academics such as Curtis Roads played next to Aphex Twin).
beepSNORT.org will focus on recent music available on the internet for download and will attempt to curate and make it easier to find interesting electronic music from all types of genres.
Reviews, general commentaries, some tech talk, etc., will be found at beepSNORT
----------About The Author: Jeff Harrington is a noted electronic experimentalist and active internet artist. He is the founder of beepSNORT and NetNewMusic two sites, which are focusing on new music on the internet.
