beginner books recommendations

Hello all,
         I'm not to sure if I want to get the book by Curtis Roads Microsound just yet, because im not too sure if I'll understand most of it.Can anyone recommend 2 to 3 books very good for someone who is not a student and is learning with absolutly zero experience?
Just so I can get a general idea on some things dealing with microsound or related subjects.
