whose first meetings began on the collective radio project
broadcastatic , which have now developed into solo and collaborative
performances with computer , digi scratch , cd , modified electronics,
contact mics, field recordings and records. ben and tommy also
form a trio with ben scott as ting ting jahe , contribute reguarly to
the online radio broadcastatic , and free103point9 fm NY .

Dan Breen and Andy Hayleck have had an ongoing
collaboration ever since they met in Baltimore. At
present they are improvising with unamplified bowed
metal objects, but that is subject to change at any
time. Both are members of the red room collective,
which puts on weekly experimental music series.

Labeled as "One of Boston's steadfast explorers," by
Bob Blumenthal of the Boston Globe, saxophonist David
Gross has been a central figure in the city's
unstoppable improvised music circuit for nearly a
decade. He has collaborated with Le Quan Ninh, Eddie
Prevost, Steve Roden, John Olson (of wolf eyes) Gino
Robair, Martin Tetreault, Kaffe Matthews, Glenn
Spearman, Raphe Malik and, obviously, many members of
the Boston free-improv scene including Bhob Rainey,
Greg Kelley, and Laurence Cook. Currently, Gross is
transforming the saxophone into exactly what it is: a
metal tube with keys, mouthpiece, and a reed. Reviews
of his recordings have been as varied as "The range of
textured noise that he cajoles from his instrument is
impressive" to "lengthy episodes of fingernails
ripping at a blackboard". He has performed throughout
the US including at festivals as diverse as The KNOB
(Witchita, KS), Big Sur Festival of Experimental Music
(CA), High Zero (Baltimore, MD), Improvised and
Otherwise (NYC) and Autumn Uprising (Boston, MA) which
he created in 1997.

David Daniell (pedal steel guitar) and James Elliott (laptop) have worked
both as an improvising duo and (under the Project Qua Project moniker)
creating intricately composed electronic music.  Daniell and Elliott are
the co-founders of Antiopic, a New York record label focusing on
experimental electronic and electroacoustic music which has produced
several albums (including Daniell's solo debut) as well as the
critically-acclaimed collection of politically-charged MP3 releases, the
Allegorical Power Series.  Daniell, a member of San Agustin (releases on
Road Cone, Family Vineyard, and Table of the Elements) has performed
extensively on the guitar for over 10 years, moving recently to exploring
the détournement of the pedal steel guitar.  Elliott also produces dense,
abstractly melodic computer-music as Ateleia.  In this pairing the two
create a tightly-conjoined melding of an unconventional approach to a
traditional instrument with innovative real-time computer processing.
