i have gone from mac to pc to unix [x-windows] and now i'm back in
terminal mode as much as i can be [even using links to browse the web
from time to time]. i like the bare text, and context sensitive
keyboarding gives you lots of input options.

i *know* it's not for everyone, but it's good for me. also, stephenson's
'in the beginning was the command line' is a worthwhile read, if a bit
longwinded and dated now [wither be ...].
