[microsound] silliness: was Re: [microsound] audio input in PC laptops again

I am more addressing your orginal question than this one, but it sickens me that people are only telling you expensive (firewire, rme) or shaky solutions (usb or powerbook). yeah, this list always cracks me up; everyone puts forth these super egalitarian views and and grumbles about the vast injustices of capitalism while going on about how great their very expensive apple computers are because they can run their very expensive max/msp programs with their un-cheap pluggo patches. i guess i just expect people to be a little more aware of the silliness of this position. it's an odd sort of snobby holier than thou that doesn't seem to make a whole helluva lot of sense. if inequality is so nasty, why don't we just talk about free software all the time? put your programming where your mouth is.--- On Tue 03/23, < kyle@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > wrote:From: [mailto: kyle@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]To: microsound@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx: Tue, 23 Mar 2004 07:34:57 -0800Subject: Re: [microsound] audio input in PC l

I purchased for 179 U..S. dollars an echo indigo IO that has a stereo input and a stereo output that supports 24 bit 96khz recording and sounds fantastic, its a pcmcia card and you can find it here www.audiomidi.com. kyleOn Tue, 23 Mar 2004 15:27:02 +0100 (CET)Daniel Brozek wrote:>hello,>>thanks all of you for comments and suggestions.>you mentioned about many equipments its driver problems.>what about linux drivers? >which can be used with linux without problems?>>about usb/fireWire and jitter problems - maybe use of PC >card can be a solution?>>best,>-- >[ dANIEL bROZEK ::: http://www.venco.com.pl/~dzemik ]>>>--------------------------------------------------------------------->To unsubscribe, e-mail: >microsound-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>For ad
