I guess he's talking about a PC laptop, he stressed it 4 times...

Daniel, I'd invest some money and buy an usb/firewire audio interface.
If you are on budget I'd suggest the ego-sys U24, I have used it in the past
and its quality (considering the price) is excellent.

Anyway, there are many solutions in the same price range, you'd better
shopping around.
