[microsound] Siemers Inter Pares Inter Pares

dear microsound,

Recently I made a few remarks on the subject which may be viewed as
disparaging.. . these were mainly triggered by the realization that I don't
have the remixing experience of many of the artists represented in the 3 CD
set.

It really is a good listen . I'm no closer to writing a review yet I will
say that it strongly encourages open mindedness , and open-minded is
something difficult to do well.

-also interesting how some CD players where I live won't play certain CDs
and with the set there are certain small excerpts which sound on different
systems. This tends to deepen the listening experience instead of detracting.

With many recordings one (speaking for myself , of course) may make the
excuse:'Well, if I was in a different room , in a different part of the
world , a different mindset; I might like this track'. Here , I take it a
step further to : 'What would it take to get to that different place '.
'What's stopping me?'

    ----

In case everybody doesn't know: you can probably download the whole thing
from http://retinascan.de , though the design is ace ; helps put the set in
some perspective.

                         b.

p.s. Since I'm on the subject of projects in which I am somehow involved; I
mentioned'The Ear Cleaners' somewhile ago. It is now actually purchasable
from http://www.klatch.co.uk .
