Flash + Supercollider, or Processing (http://proce55ing.net/) + Supercollider seems to be the way to go.

Supercollider is definitely up to the task as far as synthesis goes. And I think, (someone correct me if I am wrong), Supercollider instruments/patches/whatever can be constructed solely via OSC, where PD is stuck just using OSC for control data. I hear the PC version of supercollider is coming along, though I'm not sure how far off it is yet (did someone say there is a working version of SCServer for windows?). As for FLOSC, the flash<->sc interface, I'm having some success with it, though it required a bit of java hacking (and will require more to be working 100%). I've not tried connecting Processing to SC, but it shouldn't be a big deal.

interaction between the players, etc...) in addition to the usual musical
parameters
- on-line interface for "players" to mess around with the installation
- All that probably in a p2p approach using a server only for net-address
brokerage

Is anybody already working on such a beast (or similar, of course) or
knows anybody who is? (I am aware of quintet-net, peersynth, FMOL,
jam2jam, webdrum/JSyn, Dase, Lemu and some others and have contacted
their authors)

Is SuperCollider really up to that challenge or does another programming
language(Chuck??) spring to anybody's mind?
