As someone outside the US, yes politicians and the  culture do look pretty 
bad as a result of the stuff on Iraq. But then I've only  felt it confirmed my 
worst visions of a nation ruled by uncaring, devil  take the hindmost, 
fundamentalist, self righteous, materialistic, plastic, blood  lusting, gun crazy, 
populism. The limited choice of politicians we have in the  UK would like to 
impose as much of that culture on us too, note the opposition  to the more 
civilising EEC laws. I am not anti-american people as individuals  just the stuff 
that is presented to us as epitomising the essence of the nation.  Surprise us 
you lot! Vote in a non-jingoistic, vegetarian, from a real ethnic  minority (not 
some Uncle Tom), who bans guns and capital punishment and the  CIA.
