Thats excellent Cage was talking about mushrooms on itialian TV.

The stroy as far as I have been told, is that Yoko Ono taught Cage to live a 
macrobiotic diet, he had extreme arthritis and macrobiotic is known to help 
for this, anyhow mushrooms became a major stable of his diet and he became 
obessed with them to the point that he was known as one of the worlds 
leading experts on micology, Cage apprently was the first western to go 
behind the iron curtain during the cold war because the people of the soviet 
union really dig mushrooms and wanted him to basically keynote a major 
meeting on micology.

I have seen films of Cage going out into the woods on mushroom collecting 
journeys, then he basically shows how he likes to cook them.

I hope some of this is true.
