It does crash, belive me. But serious problems seem to be fixed rather quickly. I can't recall, however, when was the last time pd brought my entire system down... but that's not pd's merit, it's the os. I would expect the same from OSX but don't take my word for it, I never used it.

My experience with PD on OS X hasn't been terribly good. It's known to be a bit shifty, as much of the focus goes to the Linux and Windows platforms, as OS X users have had Max since the dawn of time. I must admit though, after shelling out for Max/MSP/Jitter, I'm not too interested in PD. ;-)
