Re: [microsound] General History of Computing

A History of Computing Technology by Michael R. Williams is the most
comprehensive book I've read on the subject.

http://www.computer.org/cspress/CATALOG/bp07739.htm

It should be available in most public libraries - and just about every
university library.

My favorite chapters: "The Analog Animals" and "The Mechanical Monsters"

dan.
