Working in 24 bits is fine, but when saving a sound file, it needs to be kept in mind that
there are still plenty of people who don't have up-to-date editing programs that can open
24 bit sound files. LIKE ME! : ) Several times, I've had people send me sound files that
were 24 bit and the only thing I could open them on was an mp3 player, if the source
disc could be opened at at all. And I wasn't about to re-record it into my editing program
from the mp3 player. I even tried using Pro Tools (free version) to open such files and it
would crash my computer every time. But then again, I have a lot more RAM now and a
much faster hd...
Maybe by sometime next year I'll be able to get an upgrade for my editing program...
when I'm not upgrading everything else under the digital sun!
Best, Dale
