Why wouldn't you be able to write music with Live without 'beats' with it? Do you mean that the software forces you to stick to a single time signature/tempo through the whole piece?


I was trying to find people who reverse engineer and hack software like Ableton Live and Propellerheads' Reason, yet I seem to find nothing. I like the idea of taking a piece of software that appears as a 'black box' beyond its intended usage.

Maybe people here have experience doing this? Either that or I'm going to have to open their binaries up in a hex editor and poke around until I can break things in an interesting way!
