yes.

don't use beat samples.
it is essentially a wav/aiff file sequencer, so it will make rhythmic stuff, but you don't have to.

It also makes improvising with live sound input exceptionally easy. I've recently been doing some 8-hour long live performances using contact mics for sound input, and the results have been quite astounding.


I've always wondered: can you do beatless stuff with Live? I've only tried Live once or twice, but the heavy orientation towards beats has turned me off.
