as good a deal as it seems, i'd avoid the new terratec phase 24 
firewire. i ordered one of these and all it did was output even bursts 
of static, whether it was powered by a computer or just running off of 
ac power without being hooked up to a machine at all. the replacement 
unit did the same thing. no word from tech support.
