so, you've got it working? i have never had any trouble with
using the us428 with reaktor, absynth or any other software
on my many systems - all are running os x 10.3.5 (or 6) on
desktops and a tibook laptop. i use both digi interfaces and
the fw 410, but i haven't yet tested using the fw 410 with
reaktor, though it works great with absynth 3 beta in surround
mode - fantastic with the new granular oscillators panning
in surround!
i'll let you know what happens this weekend with the us428
and reaktor. before you did the reinstall of the os (which version
of the mac os are you using?) did you do a "repair permissions?"
this is highly recommended whenever you install new things.

i´ve tested the 410 for a weekend, simultanously with my tascam.
reaktor
seems not to recognize correctly the US428, it say something like

symbols... then when you uninstalled the 410 driver, reaktor crashes

time you start it, trying to find the correct US428.

so triying to restart reaktor, i´ve installed again the 410 to start

program , and then i ´ve changed to built-in audio device.

secondly, i´ve installed again the tascam drivers , but when you try to
reopen the reaktor, it crashes again..... everytime you try to install
the
tascam drivers , they don´t work with reaktor.

finally, i, ve reinstalled macos x , and everything is ok now, with
US428
and reaktor.

version of the tascam driver...

i'm also using the motu 828 mkII, which is great. good sound
quality,
midi support. the only reason i'm shopping around is the
size&weight
of it.
