[microsound] wave field synthesis
Marije Baalmaan gave a demo of her Wave Field Synthesis work at the
Linux Audio Conference last spring. I thought it might be interesting to
pass on to the list for folks interested in ambisonics and audio
spatialization. The system uses an array of speakers to precisely
position a sound in the room, *regardless* of the position of the
listener. This makes it far more advanced than most other spatialization
systems, which rely on the listener staying in the so-called "sweet
spot" in order to to hear the proper effects.
