Spotlight will initially decrease your system performance, but once it
finishes indexing your drives, it shouldn't put a strain on your
system. Depending on your processor speed and disk speed, this can take
hours.
also, did you upgrade to 10.4.1 yet? that's also a good idea.

it but it did certainly make a difference. Anyone else have any

or thoughts on problems with this new OS?
