Another thing to consider is how very different the outcome will be
from a locked groove. A skipping record will have, by virtue of how the
skip is present, a popping, percussive sound at the point where the
groove is interrupted. A locked groove is much smoother.
I've heard of people using a spot of glue at a point in the record -
probably not something to do with a high end needle - on a Califone
perhaps?

Does anyone know of a way in which to scratch or alter a record to
ensure that it will skip in a controlled
desired pattern?
Similar to locked groove records-never used one personally-but that
is what I'm trying to create.
