Re: [microsound] TWiki question

Aaah... did not really know aout the hacking issue.
For me a KWiki will do. I guess it not more complicated than the TWiki on the userside. So for me - I would say yes!
http://kwiki.org

Here is two sites I found at the KWiki site listings that looks pretty OK:
http://memories.kyleandkelly.com/index.cgi
http://renaud.nkaworld.com/

Of course, if there is someone who steps forth and raises the volounteering hands to go for another TWiki round - yeah, this is what we shall do - but I think there is not so many here that really cares if it is a TWiki, KWiki or some else Wiki as long as it works. The function (as I have found it) of our TWiki was mainly as a place to put up links to different resources, softwares, artists, booklists and more. For that use the TWiki worked great. For other purposes like for hosting project files for project work in progress, I never or seldom felt it was ideal. The old .microsound projects seemed to work out better when there only was the Hotline client for hosting project files. Hmmm... but that is another thread (The Hotline on). Let's focus on TWiki now.

Glad you saved all old TWiki files!

Yours,
Björn

I don't know for how long this has been the case (see below) but I really

so would i!

so just raising the question -
what is wrong and are there plans to fix this?

at one point, about 3 months ago, i noticed that the requirement to be logged in in order to change the top level page was not being enforced. i didn't check any of the other pages.

soon enough, the wiki was hacked and now the top level page only
showed non-roman characters [which firefox didn't display because i
don't have the fonts].

i think work for me is going to pick up to insane levels soon, so i
don't know just how much time i can spend with this. i think what
needs to be done is a new wiki- i think twiki is good, but i obviously
can't keep up with it as much as i'd like.

so i'm looking for a simpler wiki and am leaning toward kwiki [because
i have used it]. i am open to suggestions though.

i'd say, if i'm going to keep running the wiki, perl and php are the
languages to use. otherwise, maybe someone else can step up to the
plate ...

i have all the files, so if you want, i can send you the latest
revision of what i have. you can send me the title and i'll send you
what i have. this is an invitation to anyone ...
