I guess its more that you are not so much interested in actually
singing, but you are interested in making abstruse music.
That you think you are a crappy singer is comming from comparing
yourself to other musicians which you might like, or you're jealous of
their success though you don't like them, but they can sing in a way you
can't.
Its funny a cello player would never assume she is playing cello because
she is a crappy pianist (or singer, guitar player, flutist....).
The main problem musicians on this list, and maybe on ambient lists or
alike, face is, that others (including the audience) believe a mixing
desk is not an instrument. The audienc needs to be educated, that the
guy at the desk/laptop is a musician, not a technician.
