I agree with the first part, but that tradition has itself  
incorporated a lot of electronic music, going back to the 70's:  
Franco Battiato, Franco Falsini, Area, Il Volo, and a million other  
experimental prog-rock/fusion bands.  Microsounders weren't the only  
ones listening to Berio and Nono!
