Yes but not in the same sense as those people coming up with acoustic
bullets, Burroughs wrote about using sounds to manipulate people.  He
discussed playing street sounds at a street corner. The discrepancy
between the recorded noise and the actual actions occuring in front of
people at this hypthetical corner should cause immense confusion amongst them.
He also wrote about using recordings of riots to incite riots (I think he
wrote about that in The Wild Boys and elsewhere) And in Disinfo Books - Book
of Lies - Genesis P-Orridge recants some anecdote about Burroughs taking
revenge on some small store by playing some kind of recording in front of
it that somehow lead to the store's closure...sorry I can't remember that
one very well.
