Re: [microsound] guitar amp/sim advice
all i use is guitar rig 3 and i think it sounds fantastic. plus it
has all the LFOs, envelope mods and step sequencers, which are
extremely powerful sound design tools, especially when it comes to
guitar tones. then there is also the looper, which is great.
i have the rig kontrol 2 pedal/interface but lately i'm just plugging
into my MOTU traveller.
one of the main selling points of guitar rig is that it does not mask
your guitar's tone, i.e. strats sound like strats, etc.
i'm never going back to hardware.

Hello,
I have been looking into picking up a POD from Line 6, probably the
X3 if I do. I am wondering what people's opinion and experience is
with these devices? Good? Bad? Worth the dollars spent? In
comparison I have used Amplitude, and Guitar Rig 2 & 3. I am not
totally satisfied with the results from these software packages. I
want to be able to record sweet electric guitar sounds into Ableton
or Logic Studio, and then apply effects onto these recordings. What
piqued my interest in the POD was the recent xlr8r tv episodes of
Christopher Willits, in which he uses a POD. How are the POD built
in effects and amps?
I plan on getting to try one out before I purchase, but your
overall experience with one if you have had the pleasure would be
great to hear. Thanks in advance.
