Synchronization between cpu's or between app's within a single cpu can be
done easily with the OSC libraries and a router or internal network in PD.

both are documented in the help files. I have not had trouble running
either for long term installations.

i think either syncronization or interactivity are as tricky on pd as on
max/msp.
and puredata runs on linux also.
