I don't know of any examples from the microsoundgenre, but I have
another one: for over two decades a guitarplayer called Allan
Holdsworth keeps mentioned time and again by "large" guitarists like
Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Pat Metheny and Eddie van Halen as the best
and most influential guitarist in the world. The people who mention
him are known as the stars, but Holdsworth himself hasn't got the
budget to regularly release albums. Therefore I think the thing
that creates a microstar is the quality of their work and
appreciation of it by other artists.
