shirt trax is mark fell (of snd) & jez potter.  their album _good news
from space_ (or) is very unique, made mostly of exhilarating, noisy &
percussive bleeps & usually shrugged off by people as "i could do that
in 5 minutes".  i don't know, when i sit down in front of audiomulch for
5 minutes it never sounds like that, maybe i just don't have the right
software...  joking apart, the actual _point_ of the record was to use
only freeware & shareware music software, which most anyone could have
downloaded, & still make interesting music out of it.  i suppose it's
somewhat of a lo-fi twist on the snd method.  anyway, they pull it off
quite well.
