in a sense it isn't all that different from being a DJ...you 'perform' by
selecting, mixing, layering, processing, etc on a device that involves some
mastery but not the same as the skills needed to play the guitar or piano...
I'm not saying that one way is better than the other just that for _me_ the
laptop has allowed me to create without the constraints of actively
maintaining and building upon a physical skill-set in order to perform on a
traditional instrument...besides the laptop is a generalized instrument
whereas traditional instruments are very specific...(sans 'extended
techniques' that is)
