Re: [microsound] time in Aguirre

hi,
about Aguirre, this is my personnal idea and it may be wrong, but I
understand this movie as the metaphorical journey of civilized
(technologized) humanity through history, with the sum of murders, accidents
and faith it can contain.
said quickly, the story is : a group of conquistadors are dying, trying to
go up the longest river in the world.
they die one by one, killed by their friends, or nature.
"time experiment" stands to me in the attempt to represent the adventure of
humanity in one single story, symbolic and very powerful, accentuated by the
work of time itself inside the construction of sequences, with actions
always stretched to the maximum, turning them pathetic and ridiculous.
very pessimistic, as Herzog is.
will it stand, at the end of human journey, only one passionate warrior,
wandering on a calm river and ruling on an army of monkeys ?
