otherwise, it seems like it would entail a shift of formats into a
bulletin board (ubb makes a good free one) or a blog. The blog may well
be too chaotic with as many participants as we have, but it could be a
good way to maintain a quick-and-dirty FAQ. But who wants to maintain
it? In both cases, and in my experience, both forms are less spontaneous
than an email list, but they also tend to amplify the quality signal
over redundant noise.
