Ps - I wasn't in any way disparaging the whole of Islamic culture (which
clearly has many extraordinary accomplishments) with my last message,
although I certainly was disparaging the culture of suicide bombing. I was
merely trying to poke fun at the idea that "western civilization" has some
kind of premium on nasty behavior. Just face it - we're all greedy, bloody
creatures who have just recently finished a spell being apes. Name a
civilization whose history is not one big litany of 1) war, 2) rape, 3) the
two above in endless cycle. Ok, so there are some pleasant things in there
as well, but make a tally sheet sometime - human achievement on one side,
human brutality on the other.....
