In live collaborative performance OVNI use a structured
improvisational approach. Basically we have banks of different audio
and video "raw materials" . In performance we will loosely
determine a kind of flow, but rarely do we adhere to it strictly. So
during the course of a show, we will communicate (sometimes verbally
sometimes not) and move the sound in one direction or another,
incorporating more rhythmic elements or introducing a melodic line
or what have you. The results of this are unexpected and make the
performances each unique and fun. Each artist plays off of the other
both visually and musically, in what is somewhat similar to what a
traditional improvisational trio might do.
