I resent that statement and point out that it's wholly unqualified.

I seem to remember a similar discussion awhile ago that went something
like "growing up = losing imagination"
"No it doesn't."
"Yes it does."
"No it doesn't."
etc.

That was no fun.

If one is to believe the dictionary, maturity just means fully-grown.  I
think that participating in the avant-garde requires a conceit: we are
never fully grown.
