[microsound] microsound kiosk

is it me or has the noise to signal ratio gotten completely out of whack
lately? it seems that this list has degenerated into nothing more than a
poster kiosk for radio playlists, CD release announcements and software
related questions...
this is not what this list was originally created for and I'm discouraged to
see absolutely NO philosophical discussions taking place or even looming in
the distance...have all the microsound philosophers been driven off the list
due to the noise?

also, there too many 'free-riders' here...i.e., people who post promotional
announcements but don't contribute to the list in other ways...

[think of posting promotional material as 'taking from the list' and posting
ideas, engaging in productive discussions or posting links to new music
(meaning: mp3 files created by list members) as 'giving to the list']

should I start booting people off the list who post promotional content and
nothing else?

suggestions? ideas? topics?
