it was formulated in some court decision on
intelectual property that copyrights are bad for
society and the only reason we have copyrights 
IN A LIMITED WAY is to provide some compensation
for creativity 

and if you make copyright laws too tough(as they
are now) 
it will slow down any progress

i truly believe that total abolition of
intelectual property laws will be upheld in court
at some point 
and will be done purely on legal basis
