Re: AW: [microsound] richard devine sets some fancy keyboard alight...

Arguably, tools/devices could be cited as the reason why the human evolutional strand differs so drastically to that of other animals. If one were to trace the geneology of art, it is certain that tools/devices would be a major turning point.

The symbolism of destroying tools in an artistic context is fascinating, especially when the existance of the tool in question is primarily devicive to art.

Im also interested in Richard's decision to use a lighter/fire and a bat (both tools themselves) to destroy the tool with. Fire is highly symbolic of mankind's evolution. The bat is primarily designed for sport (art/creation), but is also an efficient weapon (destruction).

If it were me however, I would probably have chosen to destroy the keyboard with only my bare hands (and maybe teeth) in a brutally animalistic fashion.

Wow, what a machine and what an ending. Is that the
first time it is being done!? Quite a breakthrough!
Hehe! It obviously looks more like a joke or parody
than some random self-destructive act so typical of
rock'n roll. The thing was perfectly worthy of
destruction. I guess you gotta be stuck-up to not
digest that.
