Re: [microsound] midi controller surface/mixer for Logic

Hey Brian,

I personally hate the Novation ReMOTE. Sure they are sturdy, come with a
good amount of knobs and faders, and the XY touchpad is funky, except that
to turning automap off is a huge pain in the ass. To turn off automap, there
is a multistep function for each and every asignable button. I don't
understand how they couldn't have thought to include an automap off. Finding
out on their website how to turn it off is very time consuming and ambiguous
too.

I just saw Akai's new midi controller, I haven't actually used it yet, and
sadly, it's a bit pricey, but it comes with cool features. Knobs and faders,
mpc-style drum buttons, a keyboard, etc, all the usual stuff, plus it comes
with a built in arpeggiator, which (as I said I haven't tried it out yet, so
not sure how good or useful it is..) http://www.akaipro.com/prodMPK49.php the
website will have all the specs.

Boris
