OTHERS can't, at least if attention is fixed on "just as easily" and
"exactly." That there is myspace means, at the most trivial, a
would-be-myspace is instead an after-myspace. As a corollary the
difficulty in achieving what would be myspace is not met with by the ease
with which myspace came to be, the difficulties being differently
constituted. To say nothing of mypsace possibly maintaining its position
through conscious effort on the part of its operators, or the some kind of inertia
of myspace users.

Some portion of the identities of myspace, lj, et al., are their
user bases. It's different people with, taken as a mass, different
characteristics that move and are moved through the different social
networking interfaces. If a certain portion of a population may be reached
and thus enlisted to some social networking interface only through some
other certain portion of that population, the difficulty of the prior
portion's being reached by agents employing disjoint portions will likely
differ by agent.

Anyway, no matter which operators happen to be most prominently operating
any given portion of the history of myspace, lj, et al. there's the
constancy of an operator's presence. Even microsounders post about
introducing consciously created memes here and there. Isn't it reasonable
to believe a corporation with obscene amounts of appropriate test data,
gobs of money, and all kinds of marketing experience puts those
microsounders' scheming to shame?
