Obviously I saw a few "holes" in your thinking however. ; )

But obviously I also need to get out more.

If your humour's anywhere as black & /or childish as mine, I find the odd
wink helps, particularly in email ; )

Thanks therefore for indirectly providing some more interesting reading
leads. 

Not sure Ovid would have made it onto my list under other circumstances....

I suppose the bit that was missing from my original enquiry was in asking re
Eros/Thanatos if anyone had not so much presented the "theme", but presented
it in a sort of "potted literary history" therof format.

I think the answer there is probably "no". & I'm kind of over it.
